Fantasian: Neo Dimensions (Switch)

Fantasian, what is it?

Fantasian is Jrpg (Japanese Role Playing Game) published by square enix.

It is very much in the same vein as, let's say, Final Fantasy, it was made by the same director as the old games and has the same music composer (who happens to be my favorite composer of all time).

It is set in a weird setting that includes swords, magic and dragons while also having tech, machines and space themed stuff.

The story is as cheesy as it can get when it comes to Jrpg. Is it bad? No. It is above average, I would place it below FFVIII but over FFXII, in my humble opinion of course.

The main things to notice in this title are:

•The art direction is fantastic, they built miniature cities in real life and took hundreds of pictures of them to map them on 3D surfaces which is what gives it such a unique look.

•It is definetly an attempt at bringning back the old-school Jrpg that we grew up with and it definetly does a decent job at it.

•The world is interesting and every "Dimension" really has it's own vibe and it's nice to see.

•Last but not least, the boss fights. The end section is almost a boss rush and every single boss in the game has a must-have strat to beat them which makes it almost a puzzle game.

As a conclusion, the game is good. Slightly above average. I really enjoyed the art style, the music and the different settings.

I am not a huge fan of boss rush stuff but I know some people love it and love a good challenge.

Another thing to note that could be a selling point to some but not for me is the post game content. This game has new game+ system which is nice for the grinders out there and I really wanted to point that out!

I give it a solid.
